On March 20, 2008, Dr. Patrick Schnable presented the spring 2008 University Presidential Lecture, titled "Exploring Crop Genomes, Advancing Crop Improvement". He was also honored with the Baker Professorship in Agronomy. Prior to the lecture, a reception was held which displayed students' research.
